Sap crystals that you have already created will remain usable.Loot system changes If you damage a creature which is killed by NPC or an other creature, you will be now able to loot this creature. It will no longer be possible to create sap crystals. In the new system, using the skill will immediatly reload the weapon in your right hand. These new occupations will give you new potions which enable you to increase your strategic abilities during your hard battles, but also new Roleplay possibilities!New enchantment system The system to recharge your right-hand weapon has undergone some changes. Aurachemist: Allows you to create potions which give to the whole team a beneficial aura and usable during fight. Alchemist: Allows you to create advanced potions of regeneration usable during fighting. Here is the list of the occupations which will be available at the moment of the patch: Catalyst Artificer: Allows you to create experience catalyzers from products obtained by elementary occupations. New advanced occupations will be accessible to players. If you have a Karavan or Kami fame of 100, you will notice a new graphic effect during teleportation.Miscellaneous Atus Gromulus and the Frontier Messenger have been moved from a side room to a location in front of the Guild Clerk in the Pyr palace, making the side room suitable for Akenak meetings. This adjustment was necessary to cull the excessive quantities currently available across all shards.Teleportation pact changes It is no longer possible for a "karavaneer" to use a "kamist" teleportation pact or vice versa. The production of other materials will remain unchanged. Experience Catalyzer production is reduced by 90% and flower production will be reduced by 75%. There is no change to experience gain however - a creature killed by an NPC or another creature will still give no experience.Decreased Outpost production An adjustment was necessary to the outpost production rates. When you get to the mainland here are three factions to choose from, Karavan/Neutral/Kami going for any of these will dictate which teleports you can get.New advanced occupations will be accessible to players. You can progress all skills up to level 250 so you don't have to specialise in just one skill. For example if you level your fight skill to level 21 it branches out into Ranged weapons or melee weapons. Skills are pretty open in Ryzom, it starts in four main categories (fight/magic/craft/harvest) and as you reach certain levels it branches out into other skills. There is good PvP content, or in most cases if it isn't your thing you can avoid it. The mainland is quite big so if a friend on the training island picks another race it may take some time to meet. The only difference between the races is fame, different races get a head start in fame with different factions and fame dictates how NPCs of the factions react to you. There are four races to choose from: Matis, Fyros, Tryker or Zorai - if you progress to the mainland you will end up in the racial region belonging to the race you choose.

The trial will only give you access to the Ruins of Silian (the training area) and has a few restrictions.
If you do decide to subscribe you will be given access to the mainland.

There is no time limit on the trial so download it and give it a go at you leisure. I never thought I'd get into MMOs (I was mostly into playing first person shooters), but Ryzom has managed to hold my attention so far.
